The Lakeside Room
The Lakeside Room is a favorite with our guests. The views of the lake and sunsets from the large windows are stunning. Open the windows to let in the morning breeze, lay for longer than you think you should in the comfy queen sized bed and enjoy...or sleep in. Why not...you are at the lake. Rest, relax, retreat. It's your time.
The Winged Room
The Winged Room has a soft color palate and hand crafted oak headboards. This bedroom gets its name from the many bird species that make Cameron Lake their home throughout the year including loon, swan, blue heron, eagles, gulls, geese and many, many more. Bonus, the sunset views are stunning from these windows!
The Wildlife Room
The Wildlife Room has the warmth and feeling of being in a tree house. Cozy up in the queen sized bed and gaze at the treetops. Every season provides a different view. We believe every Minnesota house or cabin must have at least one room featuring incredible creatures you may see in the Minnesota wild like the bear and moose. Our bear is lovingly named Minnkota.
The Railroad Room
The Railroad Room has a queen bed and one single bed and is the largest bedroom at The Lake House Retreat. From the North facing window you may be able to see a passing train. Listen for the train whistle to let you know it’s coming near. The décor of the Railroad Room pays tribute to the historic railroad system that has been in operation since the 1800’s.
The Garden Room
The Garden Room has an old world charm with 2 single beds and a cozy seating area. This room is so named because of our owner’s love of gardening and flowers. The two east facing windows provide views of Cameron Lake and capture the beautiful rise of the morning sun.
The Crafting/ Recreational Rooms
Open space on the 2nd level. For our crafters, we provide 6 & 4 ft. tables, Cushioned wheeled chairs, table light/phone chargers. Bring your own supplies and you are welcome to use our cartridge Cricuts. For our other guests, this space converts to a family/recreational and sleeping spaces. 55” TV with Firestick, Keurig coffee station and lake views.
Kitchen, Dining and Sitting Area
Our spacious dining area seats up to 8 people at the table and 4 at the eat-at bar counter. The room is a bright, fun place for guests to enjoy meals & beverages and play cards & board games! And the LAKE VIEWS....WOW!
The bar counter which connects the kitchen and dining space is 10 feet long and is a gorgeous charcoal grey custom cut to extend an extra 10" deep to serve as an eat-at-counter. It makes the perfect buffet area as well with the large passthrough to the kitchen.
The kitchen has large oak cabinets built in the 1950’s. Some of the doors have been removed to display dishes and décor. The original single basin sink is a must have for groups who love to cook in crockpots. The cabinets were changed to accommodate a stainless steel dishwasher, which we all appreciate!
The sitting area is a favorite spot to gather in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea and watch the water fowl and turtles on the lake. The sliding glass doors lead directly to the deck and expansive yard. The antique pie cabinet has been in our owner’s family since the late 1800’s.
